Costco is having a similar issue with Amex to Visa.

Mgmt. Consulting will put you on the road for 50 weeks and 200K miles per year.

It's awful don't do it. Airline clubs and first class get old after a while

What everyone is ignoring is safety. The U.S. airlines are the best, they actually have properly trained pilots (think back to that Asiana airliner that clipped its rear upon landing at SFO...total pilot error or the Air France flight that tumbled into the Pacific). Go ahead and fly Wow and the international carriers because they have a little nicer service. I'd rather get there alive. I make it a point of not flying any international carrier other than BA, Qantas, Cathay, Singapore Airlines, Air Canada and Lufty.

You always have a choice. You can do something else. Like becoming a dairy farmer or running a brothel. I am fairly certain that the 9th Ring of Hell resembles the Admiral's Club at O'Hare and is similarly populated by PWC and Deloitte shitheads comparing notes on the best place to get a rub and a tug in Omaha.

Seriously.
The riff-raff they let into the United Club these days is ridiculous. I've considered not renewing the membership fee but it's better than waiting in the terminal like the rest of the creatures that inhabit these airport wastelands.

Get an Amex Platinum and find a Centurion Club. When you are killing time with the family and booze is free, it tends to fly by.

The new Chase Sapphire Reserve is good too, with access to Premium Pass lounges. From what I hear not as good as Centurion but free booze and shit plus good rewards.

I assume the Reserve is different from Sapphire.

Funny, Centurion Lounge is awesome and can bring my whole family, but Priority Pass lounges are only free for me and wife, cant bring one friend without them paying.

Hah, no, I've been drinking on the beach in Hawaii for the last 9 days. Got back to my dad's place in Monterey late last night and am flying out from SFO tomorrow

I wonder if some sort of acid-base reaction occurs if Philly comes into contact with BCI's resident teetotaler.

Yes it's different (and Priority Pass is what I meant, not Premium). Sounds like all your travel companions can go with you to the Priority Pass lounges. $450 fee but $300 in travel credit annually plus 100k points when you spend $4k in 3 months, so really $150 per year plus a bunch of ways to earn points quickly.

The Hawaii trip is a belated honeymoon. Plus I'm getting out next May and have no reason not to burn a bunch of leave days.

I decided to work til noon and I am bouncing off the walls. 5pm out of Newark.

This trip has shown me that I have way too many BC shirts. I thought I was packing most of them and realized there was an are in my closet that I had just thrown a bunch of them and havent worn for years. My wife pointed out that I always just wear the last one I bought over and over.
