Two and only two protected cross-division rivals:
1) FSU-Miami
2) UVa-UNC

If the protected's play every year, BC would get to play the 5 teams from the other division every other year and the two rivals teams in the other division every 6 years.

If you want to balance it even more, you make FSU-Miami and UVa-UNC semi-protected. Let's face it, these aren't Alabama-Auburn, Texas-Oklahoma, OSU-Michigan rivalries. They're important to the programs but does anyone else care. Let them play guaranteed every 2/3 years. At that rate, everyone plays those rival teams every 4 years and everyone else every 3 or so. If both UNC and UVa football can survive decades of general suckitude, they can survive a downgrade of their rivalry.

I love conference/division realignment talk! Brings out the board-game geek side of me. Diplomacy forever!

Coastal Division:
- GT

- UNC
- Duke
- NCST
- Wake
- UVa

East Division:
- FSU
- Louisville
- VT
- Miami
- BC
- Pitt
- Syracuse

Don't give me shit about UVa and VT, they got by fine for years in different conferences.

And to bring the conversation back to the topic at hand, you can't tell me that the above division wouldn't make for a more attractive season ticket package. Ranking ACC teams in terms of attractiveness on the schedule, I'd say: Top Teams (FSU, Clemson) > Miami > VT > Syracuse > Louisville > Pitt > UVa >>>>> Duke, UNC, NCST, Wake.
