Entirely premature. Can JC and get men's lax back up and running, and then we're talking.

@bcatleagle
There have been hints of this on social media, but we might as well say it: if you are happy with the change and Hafley hire, show your support with a little cash.

I also donated on Saturday to Flynn Fund.

Zero interest in adding men’s lacrosse. We already have a ton of sports as it is. Let’s focus on improving what we already have.

Came across a random Q&A with Peter Lynch. When asked what are the first websites he checks, he said Boston College sports. EO? In any case, with an estimated net worth of $350 million, wondering if he gave to the Flynn Fund with this recent news...

Barron’s: Websites you look at first thing.
Lynch: Boston College sports. Family photos.

Can he be our T Boone?

That wasn't in the print Barrons! Thanks for pointing out.
Lynch is most assuredly worth well more than $350m...

You're probably right. The $352 million estimate I saw had March 2006 in parentheses. The market has more than doubled since that time so perhaps he is above $700 million or close to a billion.

I guess all his daughters went to BC which is why he has been generous with his donations toward the school despite not being an alumnus.

Mario Gabelli has 1 daughter and 3 sons (they did all go to BC).

I am going to take a guess you don't know the Gabelli family. :ace

I do not (obviously). So how did they first become connected with the school? Did his wife go here? Is that why the children all went here? Or did he become involved with the university after the children attended? As you can see, I clearly know very little about the family but am curious of the initial connection.

The story is that Mario’s boys were not the brightest bulbs and Fordham was too fucking stupid to admit them. BC, on the other hand, was able to look past their academic shortcomings and see that they had other talents that would make them a good fit. For all of my complaints about BC, nobody takes a backseat to The Jesuit University of New York when it comes to stepping on its own dick in all aspects. Father O’Hare makes Leahy look like Monan reincarnated.

This. It is virtually impossible to not get into Fordham U out of Fordham Prep but Mario's oldest son pulled it off.

Mario's current wife went to Fordham which is why Mario is back in the fold at FU after years of no love.

Ironically the current president of FU Fr. McShane is a BC grad and is more clueless than O'Hare was in most aspects of running a university. :ace

All true. O’Hare being followed by McShane is like something so awful that even a Daz following Spaz comparison doesn’t do it justice. God help Fordham.

From my HS it was a mere formality. If you were the avg kid from UES/UWS/BreezyPt/Woodside/etc, Fordham was easy AF to get into. Only school easier would've been LeMoyne.

The only reason to go to LeMoyne was to continue your high school athletic career 4 more years.
