Little doubt that the coaching edge goes to Whipple and UMASS. Minutemen are in a no lose situation, and likely streaming with confidence after routing opponent No. 1. So, simply, will superior talent prevail?

They're replacing 5 starters across the front 7 including both DTs. The OL is going to manhandle them.

I don't like that they had what amounts to a pre-season game to work the kinks out. Game 1 in college football is always a wildcard because it's the first live action anyone faces. That said, I think we win by 14+ but the 1st have will be close / ugly.

monday is his weekly appointment with dr. martha blyhope. he'll likely double post tomorrow after he recovers from his double penetration on saturday and sunday

this is par for the course with daz & umass
2014 (murphy year): 30-7 win but 6-0 at the half
2016 (towles year): 26-7 win but 0-7 after 1, 13-7 at half

Some real gems in there:
1. (Regarding UMASS QB) “The quarterback is very accurate forward thrower.”
2. Speaking about BC’s OL) “We've got versatility and depth up there. That is the kiss of death: next thing you know you have a run of injuries. We have seven or eight guys that we feel confident can play full-time up front.”
Other tidbits:
1. Petrula will be RT, Baker is gonna be the C, Lindstrom at RG. Says these are their natural positions.
2. Dillon will be an every down back. Raves about his sheer size, power, and speed. Add in his finesse and great hands, he’s never seen that in back before.

as of now, 70 and partly cloudy...much better than what we're getting this week
there isn't a whole lot in the dazzler presser...these reporters need to learn how to ask a question without starting a sentence with 'talk about...'

It’s a sad state of affairs when I can’t even make a list of 3 items after reading the whole thing twice.

I don't think so. I think it will be 14-0 or even 17-0 at the half.
The 2014 and 2016 teams, they didn't have a running back like A J Dillon. The 2013 team did.

I don't know if their DL/LB replacements are better or worse, but probably a good sign. On offense for UMass, I expect Isabella to make some plays. I've watched UMass a bit when I'm not at BC games and they've looked decent against SEC competition. I think they can get 2-3 touchdowns. But they'll have a tough time stopping the BC offense if Brown is at least serviceable. BC should win comfortably.

UMass could not get a pass rush on DU. AB should have all day to throw. I think BC will adjust to the UMass passing game as the game progresses.

AB should have all day to throw. Good.....maybe he won't drill it into the ground on an uncontested flat pass.
BC will need the throw game as the world will be stacking the box to try and stop Dillon.
I hope Addazio won't be pig headed enough to stay with Brown interminably if he shows little real game poise, and can't deliver a forward "throw".
