NFL teams would be crazy not to draft Patchan. He is a beast on the field and I think he could make a smooth transition to the NFL. If he isn't drafted by the fourth round, I would be shocked.

Patchan was tied for 4th with a 4.97 40 and first in vertical jump with 32 inches. The second guy in the vertical was 30.5 inches. :elephant

It was pretty hysterical watching the old clown Charlie Casserly be 10-15 tenths off on all the "unofficial" 40s.

If you aren't going to have someone who can at least be close, might as well just wait for the official ones to be released.

Patchan did well for himself today, but I'm not sure why he skipped like half the events.

Did Sammy Watkins break the sound barrier during his 40 (as was being predicted)?

His best time (unofficially) was 4.34. Bryant, a WR Clemson teammate, also ran a 4.34 unofficially.

Or 4.63? His second was 4.56. His height comes in a shade under 6', putting him in Russell Wilson and Drew Breese territory. Bridgewater did not run.

So fast scouts didn't even see it.

It sucks that this years WR is absolutely loaded. Hopefully Amidon puts up good numbers at his pro day. I think he will at least get invited to a camp as an UDFA.

Showing up at 230lbs, KPL must think he has a better chance as an OLB than as a SS.

Nice to see out guys with decent strength numbers. Wasn't too long ago that our OLs were posting numbers in the low 20s.

A couple of articles quoting A-Train from his time at the podium.
http://articles.mcall.com/2014-02-22/sp ... and-browns
http://bostonherald.com/sports/patriots ... e_williams
http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2014/02/2 ... ith-bills/

The comment that simultaneously has me proud and mad:
After going 6-16 in 2011 and '12, Boston College fired coach Frank Spaziani and replaced him with Steve Adazzio, who guided the Eagles to a 7-5 finish and their first bowl appearance in three years this past season.

"I would say my time at BC was a journey," said Williams, who was the runaway winner of the 2013 Doak Walker Award, given to the nation's top running back. "There was a lot going on from year to year, different coaching changes and what not.

"But I think there was a real stability in the team itself. I really enjoyed being around my teammates. I really enjoyed Chestnut Hill and the Boston area.

"There's a lot of great people a lot of great influences around me at BC. I really enjoyed my time there."

I'm proud of the kids and the university as a whole that they were able to support one-another and (despite horrific on-field results) allowed them to grow as players and coaches. I'm pissed that GDF did everything humanly possible to ruin their experience. Thankfully, like everything GDF has ever tried to do, he was unsuccessful.
