Michael,

I understand the impact, but even with increased roster sizes a direct result of the addition, I still don't see the point in clogging a team with RP. Kinda like kickers in football. WTF is the point? It's fantasy for a reason: GET BIG NUMBERS, WIN MONEY! Saves and holds are like kissing your sister's penis.

Pedro,

The roster sizes remain the same and they are no more clogged with relievers than usual. Except now instead of fighting over 30 closers, setup pitchers are equally as valuable so there is more to choose from and you can consider which ones will help your ERA and WHIP instead of just one category. Now people don't have to fight over shitty closers. They can pick and choose from the many relievers that are available on the waiver wire like MEN. For instance, K-Rod just got traded to the Orioles to setup for Jim Johnson and I don't even care because he's still going to get holds so it may not even affect his stats. LIVE FREE.

My league does QS instead of W's and L's so I find saves generally useless unless you have one of the top guys helping your ratios. Kevin Gregg, for example, is probably a lot less valuable than a Melancon. I always find it funny when people trade legitimate assets for like Rafael Betancourt or something.

Just picked up Jim "Fraggle Rock" Henderson for peanuts and traded the useless corpse of Kemp and future cap for Tulo and current cap. I already have Ian Desmond, so it's more of a defensive move against my only real competitor at this point whose infield is lacking and just lost Cargo to the DL. Now he may have to give up one of his stud pitchers to get Longoria.

Still in first and this is what my team looks like

C Wieters
1B Encarnacion
2B Seager
SS Tulo
3B Zimmerman
OF Crush Davis
OF Choo
OF Fowler
Util Desmond/McLouth/Scutaro/Alonso
SP Darvish
SP Strasburg
SP Corbin
SP Masterson
SP Kluber
SP W Chen
RP Kimbrel
RP Romo
RP Grilli
RP Henderson

room to add at least 1 hitter and a SP this weekend. I like where I stand with 50 games left.

2nd place sucks, especially when you were in first all year.

I will say the guy who won had a beast team, and I was always shocked that he wasn't ahead of me. It came down the wire as we were even battling H2H in a couple categories for points. I blame my SP down the stretch - Darvish's back problem makes total sense now and Corbin fell apart. Toss in that I added Garza to help me late and my SB guys stopped stealing and there ya go. I'm could completely suck balls next year as I totally sold out for this season.

I tanked and dumped my team for keepers around Labor Day but still ended up in 5th place. I have Buster Posey, Giancarlo Stanton, Curtis Granderson, Domonic Brown, Allen Craig, and Jedd Gyorko to choose from (we can keep 4). I stashed Miguel Sano too but it doesn't sound like he'll be coming up right away next season.

Have our auction this weekend   Guess the early games in Australia (really Selig?) pushed everything forward.

10 team H2H points and need to decide on final keeper. I know everyone's points leagues are different but it's standard except W/L are +/- 3 & a quality start is 7 a "good" start is >20 points.

So far I have:

1) Goldschmidt: $16
2) Jose Fernandez $6
3) Hanley $20
4) Puig $6

Debating between 3: Iwakuma $6, Zach Wheeler $6, & Latos $21. Going back and forth with all of them

Latos has been an absolute horse for me for the last 4 years putting up at least 31 starts, 185 Ks, & a sub 3.5 ERA. He's also only 26 years old.

From a value POV Iwakuma might be the best. Last year he was a top 10 pitcher. 33 starts, 2.66 ERA, & >4.4:1 K:BB. But he's 32, and who knows how many miles wang's relatives put on his arm back in the land of rising sun. He's out for a couple of weeks with a tendon issue in his finger.

Wheeler might have the highest upside of all 3 but with pitching so absurdly deep this year (esp in a 10 team league), wonder if I could get him back for ~$6 in the auction.

Iwakuma, and it would be no question for me. I do forget that Latos is that young. I don't think Wheeler will reach his true potential until at least 2015 - I think you can get him back for under 6.

My auction keeper options suck this year because I went all out for the pennant last year giving away both keepers and 2014 cash, only to place 2nd. wah wah. I am going to have to go for high upside cheap guys in the draft like Dickey and Castro in order to have another strong season. Pretty sure it won't work and I'll end up hating my team but I don't have much choice.

I agree with the prick, keep Iwakuma for $6.

Do you think Masahiro Tanaka will like pitching in a Little League stadium?

Pitching in that park is all about staying in on righties and away from lefties. If you can pitch to left field, its a good pitchers park. Don't know what kind of control he has, but nasty lefties like Pettitte and Lester can thrive there.

Auction Results:

C: Montero
1B: Goldschmidt (Keeper)
2B: Kipnis
SS: Hanley (Keeper)
3B: Wright
OF: Puig (Keeper)
OF: Rios
OF: Craig
Util: Prado - like him, in points league he's valuable, never strikes out + position flexibility (insert tre link here)
Util: Beltran
BE: Dan Murphy
BE: Brandon Moss
BE: Soriano

SP: Lee
SP: Fernandez (Keeper)
SP: Iwakuma (Keeper)
SP: Bailey
SP: Kuroda

RP: Cishek
RP: Parnell
RP: Rodney
RP: Bell
RP: Hunter

Pretty happy w my team. With Fernandez and iwakuma as keepers, my idea was to target bats exclusively and get 1 ace. Fell into Bailey as a bargain that couldn't pass up.

Thought was in a 10 team league good pitching constantly comes into the league or is available on waivers.

I yearn for the good old days of rampant steroid abuse where the team you drafted was the team you won with and filling spots for injury plagues weren't such a big part of the strategy you have to employ. Although it does give you a distinct advantage against people who don't pay attention to prospects, so there's that. Just pissed that in one of my league 4 of my 6 OFs either hit the DL or have had lengthy DTD issues all in the same short span...and one of the other 2 is George Springer.

I have been able to pick up Carlos Santana and Danny Salazar in my H2H league because of impatient owners, though.

This is why I don't usually bother anymore. Too time consuming to be figuring out if the 5th OF on the Brewers is going to get enough ABs to justify picking him up because your three top OFs are on the DL with "lack of greenies".

I tend to listen to podcasts during routine work and my stroll of a commute. That gets me enough usually. Scanning the waiver wire and seeing hundreds of guys with between 35-85 ABs or 18-30 IP so far this year with little to no track record except at Las Vegas or Columbus gets old pretty quick though. The fact that a .240 average isn't a big detriment to your team in FANTASY SPORTS is beyond ridiculous. And fuck me if I know what a solid XFIP or HHAWRISP are.

I just look at posts from Yahoo, Rotoworld and FanGraphs, the last of which gets more on the :ugeek: side. Really only spend about 15-20 minutes scanning that stuff a day and setting my lineup.

So thoughts in a dynasty league of Fernandez vs Harvey? Being a mets fan clearly clouds my view. Think Fernandez is better longterm but essentially a challenge trade and want the Harvey owner to throw in more
