I Didn't Realize GDF Was a Consultant for the Cubs

Postby Cadillac90 on Thu Oct 21, 2010 6:44 am

That fat fuck Jim Hendry had to take advice from Coach Flip in hiring that muppet, Mike Quade. He's a life long minor league manager / assistant that finally got his dream job. Sound familiar? They are reporting that he's not even make $1.0 million per year. Nice hire you, Jim, maybe now you can go resign Milton Bradley and Juan Pierre. DIAF Hendry.

Caddy....since you IB and I have been posteing for 8 seasons....use 74 as an example of peaceful serenity and calm.

Lone Wolf McQuade won when the guys were in salary and renewal drive and Zambrano was like lights out when he returned, so he will be with the Yankees in a trade.

Their farm system is theri only chance. That lineup got old in a hurry.

Cliff Lee, Soriano, Crawford....If your Cubs can outbid Texas and NY....

Texas beats the Yankees, Lee is leaning to the Texas $$$$.

Greenberg has some deep pocketed connections.

They are not planning to go after any big name free agents despite the fact that they don't have a first baseman and are in need of a top flight starter. Ricketts = McCaskey, Cubs and Bears fans are cursed with horrible ownership.

Which idiotic team will wildly overpay Papelbon?

Mets: 3-1

Yankees

Obviously Lee will get a $20-$23M ----5 year offer from Texas, but how much will the Yankees top it and with no state juice, will Lee who lives in Arkansas jump. i doubt it. If Texas wins the World Series, I say Lee stays and even not, he is a 4-1 to stay put. AL West is little league compared to Al East.

*********************
That leaves:
*********************
Swisher/Gardner are ok, but Carl Crawford gets the one spot and Adam Dunn should repalce Lance Berkman.

Posada can't throw so he just needs to be a backup to Jesus Montero and get John Buck as a backup or Posada for same $$$.

Yankees need a lefty and Rivera is incredible but old. I would sign both with Soriano being number 1.

Maybe a future backup replacement for Jeter. Reyes comes free in 2012, but he is a jerk.

if a fan or the Yankees had a need wish list this would be it.

Crawford 1
Soriano 2
Dunn 3
Fuentes 4
Buck 5

They were 24-13 with absolutely zero pressure on them. True Sanberg didn't have any major league managing experience but neither does Quade. Hendry told Sandberg to do X in order to get the job, Sandberg did X+ and got snubbed. All the young kids raved about Sandberg as a manager and teacher. Hendry is an incompetent ninny and has no business running a team but Ricketts is too cheap to cut him loose because Hendry still has 2yrs at $5mm per left on his contract.

Sandberg may be there in 2 years and yes the Cubs would ahve to pay him double Lone Wolf McQuade.

I take it you need a 74 Bazooka with a silencer kit?

Wood 10.500-------33
Pettitte 11.750-----38
Jeter 22.600---------36
Berkman 14.500-----34

Some will add +1 in age deals.

Yankees have $88M coming free.

That is a lotta cake to spread around to the 5 I listed, plus I see Dunn replaceing Berkman.

Jeter might get $10M...Rivera $15M....Pettitte....$10M....Wood....$8M...

88-43 = 45M for Lee, Dunn, and Crawford???

NFL draft and baseball free agency.

This team got old in a hurry.

Lee is now talking with the Rangers and he is smart. That AL East will eat him up and the Al West competition is little league.
