Is this the board for tennis, too?

Postby apbc12 on Wed Jun 23, 2010 2:09 pm

American John Isner (U-S-A!) is locked up in a serious battle with some stinky Frenchman at Wimbledon. 52-51 in the fifth set. Not a typo.

Doesn't look like they're going to be able to wrap this thing up today. It'll be interesting to see if either of these guys can even run tomorrow. Isner looks like he might black out at any moment.

Totally!! I don't know how he is still standing. I'm surprised he can still bend his knees.

The time for the fifth set alone -- is the longest match in time in history.

59-58

Al "Lazy Elvis" Skinner has not used a timeout which makes me so proud.

See you tomorrow. Frenchie quit, as Frenchies are wont to do.

God that match was painful. Serve, try to move, try to hit drop shot, fail. Repeat. For almost 120 games. Isner looked like he wanted to die.

Playing tennis is almost as gay as the people that watch tennis on TV.

As impressive as the feat is, they're not even playing when they don't have the serve now. They're just waiting for the other to make a mistake...the games are completely non-competitive almost every time. This match will end immediately once one player commits to breaking the others serve. In truth, it's gotten kinda dull now.

i think one of them is aiming to win with 69. suffer through a few more games and then tobaccoroad's own isner will make a charge to break serve at 68-67

Thanks, I'll stick to the downfall of modern Italian soccer...down 1-0 against Slovakia

I disagree. There have been several deuces over the last 15-20 points, so it's not like they aren't trying at all.

I count 1...the very first game of the day. Otherwise almost every game is 40-0 or 40-15 and the occasional 40-30

Sure, but the 15-20 I am talking about goes back to yesterday...

Isner is clearly still trying. Just wide on the point for Mahut and gets the next two points while trying to break him (currently 69-68).
