BC vs. Tulane Series Thread

Postby bignick33 on Sat Feb 20, 2010 9:55 am

BC beat Tulane last night 8-5 in front of 3003 fans. It's funny that they get more fans for baseball than we get for basketball. Spatola and Melchionda hit back-to-back bombs in the first, and Dean pitched 7 strong innings. Killer Kowalski struggled in the 9th, but Moran closed the door. Overall, based on the box score and recap, it looks like it was a very strong way to start the season. These teams will play tomorrow and Sunday as well.

Nice win. Anytime we beat a Southern team it's an accomplishment.

Great way to start off the season !!! I’m glad we finally have some BC baseball to talk about on the BC baseball board. 3003 fans, hhhhhmmmmm do we even get that many fans over the course of a season at our high school field? When do we start construction on the new field ??

We have the highly touted freshman DelColle starting tomorrow. It was significant when he turned down pro $$ to come to BC; hopefully he pitches like it. I hope we bury Tulane tomorrow and snag a sweep; if so, we'll come close to being ranked next week.

A sweep would be big. Tulane is a good program and should be decent this year from what I read, so it's not like BC is obliterating some shitty team.

If I'm not mistaken, Tulane got more votes in the rankings than we did...

Unfortunately Del Colle got nuked in the first inning.

BC took 2 out of 3. This is a good start.

Welcome Zlax, glad you left the crap that is TOS. There is definitely some room for some baseball content.
