Selig was originally against interleague play you fucking boob and then the Union showed him the polls on attendance and interest.
Interleague is still fucked up with the rival deal and not enough games.
I was at the first one in Texas and framed.
BCEagle74 {l Wrote}:They should put a 70,000 foot statue of the smartest man alive Marvin Miller in front of Yankee Stadium since it was his genius in running the baseball union and the deals they struck that made baseball the dynamic game with free agency and arbitration that it is today.
The Yankees were bought for $10M in 1972 and are worth $2.2 BILLION.
The owners make a fortune on the values of the teams, huge cash flows, ---even Pittsburgh ----and still whine like Buddy and his cronies and scumbag lackies.

That's your counter-argument? No attempt to address the fact that inter-league was not Bud's idea, and that he indeed opposed it?
Bud's legacy will be steroids, not the growing popularity of the sport or revenue streams. The 1998 surge was fueled by the steroid enhanced HR race, so the entire issue is suspect. The increase in popularity tacked right along with the boom in the economy, a rash of new stadiums, and the growing popularity of the NFL.
I do agree about the casual fan's attitude on steriods, even though I don't share that view.

Chan Ho Park has agreed to a one-yeal deal with the New York Yankees, he announced Monday at a news conference in Seoul, South Korea.
The Yankees have not announced the signing, and on Monday team GM Brian Cashman declined to say a deal was done. But sources told ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney that the Yankees had agreed to terms with Park on a deal worth $1.2 million, plus $300,000 in potential incentives, pending a physical.
Park, who pitched for the National League champion Philadelphia Phillies out of the bullpen last season, said he will join the Yankees bullpen, The Korea Times reported.
"I was deliberating on the Chicago Cubs and the Yankees, but their history and championship contention resulted in me picking the Yankees," he said, according to The Korea Times.
Earlier in the offseason, Park turned down a one-year, $3.25 milllion offer from the Phillies.
Cashman admitted the team is interested in Park, but declined to say a deal is done. He said he has had several conversions with agent Jeff Borris, who represents Park, but has no deal in place.
He said the team does have money left over in its budget to add payroll. Cashman called park "very attractive, especially what he does out of the bullpen."
As for Park fitting into an already full bullpen, Cashman said, "The more, the merrier. You can never have enough."
Park, the first South Korean to play in the majors, has a career record of 120-95 with a 4.35 ERA over 18 big-league seasons with the Dodgers, Rangers, Padres, Mets and Phillies.
ESPN The Magazine senior baseball writer Buster Olney. ESPN 1050 New York's Andrew Marchand and The Associated Press contributed to this report.
