They moved the outfield walls in this winter to squeeze out of him what little value they still can, and it won't make a difference. His doubles numbers are down, too. He's lost power. I'll be surprised if he hits 10 HRs this year.

More hits in April: Teixeira or Bay?

Good one.

I resorted to pulling out the schedule. I'm going to say Tex because I think the Mets are up against slightly better pitching in April than the Yanks. Also, the Yanks can always slot Tex into the DH spot if they want to rest him some or he has a minor injury.

true

That said, Strasburg is mowing them down today. Probably doesn't matter who was at the plate.

Johan threw 99 pitches today. Only got through 5, but he must be off the pitch count now.

Today's par for the course with Johan on the mound, Victor Zambrano could be the opposing pitcher and the Mets wouldn't give Johan a run to work with.

Agreed, the most encouraging thing is Terry (who I like) allowed him to go out for the 6th at around 90 pitches.

This lineup is terrible given the status of the Opening Day 3-4-5, Wright (hurt), Ike (cold), Bay (blows)

Also, ever since I commended him on his catch, he's dropped 2 fly balls in 2 games.

Michael Bay, definitely. He's done far more damage.
