Santana --- 22.91 for 6. === 29 Starting for Mets. 137.5M ---2008

Sabathia --- 23.00 for 7. === 28 Strating for Yankees. 161M ---2009

Halladay, since he is older, 33 starting seaon in May.

My guess is 4 years at $82M, or maybe 5 years at $105M --- 2010

The Red Sox are going hard. They seem to have a dynamic front office bent on winning and the California Angels dropped a ton of payroll but do not seem to be players....yet..

Phillies want him bad and with the Lee deal, still ahve a boatload of prospects.

The Yankees would cause a stir and maybe intervention by the Commissioner, but that is a 10% "best interests of the game crap anti trust talking!" The Yankee Revenue and the welfare communist baseball system is the BEST INTEREST OF BASEBALL!

Mets are Omaramess.

I SAY ROY BECOMES A PHILLIE!

Trading for Roy Halladay would be a huge waste of the Red Sox' top farm talent. The team needs another impact bat on top of keeping Bay in order to compete with the Yankees. If Bay goes, then they need 2 impact bats.

If Halladay goes to the Phillies the NL is over, especially if Lidge can be more 2008 than 2009.

He is going to get dealt, considering the names thrown around (Bucholtz, Hughes, Austin Jackson, etc.) are going to be of greater value than the two first rounders they pick up.

Despite what reports are coming out of the Toronto, they don't want to deal him within the division, I can't imagine their limited fanbase accepting that. Obviously I would love for the Mets to pick him up and form the best 1-2 in baseball with Johan (especially with the spike in numbers given the move to the NL). Is this going to pan out like the Johan deal, where the Yanks and Sox play chicken and the Mets jump in? Lord knows our prospects never pan out. I do not want to give him a similar ilk of Johan, CC. He's going to be 33 at the beginning of last year and has logged a lot of innings throughout his career whereas Johan was 29 (only 4 years as a starter) and CC was 28.

Interesting idea for the Sox fans here, moving Pedroia to SS

Based upon some of the names I've heard the Jays want from the Yanks for Halladay (especially Jesus Montero), I hope the Yanks stay away.

I don't think the Phillies are a horse in this race.

Yanks may be packaging 4 young pitchers for Halladay.

Cashman accumulates a lot of fair to good assets?
