I don't really pay attention to this sport. But, I find this shocking... BC has 3 Preseason All Americans and have produced more MLBs than any other ACC program since 2015.

Real chance to make some noise in the ACC and NCAA tourney this year.

I know someone you can stay with in Fort Worth... I hear the hospitality there is legendary.

DBAP is a great ball park if you ever have the chance to go.

agreed - but are they allowing fans? if so, i may head to the sunday game... it's supposed to be mid 70s here (and the rain may even hold off)

Both the rain suspended game from yesterday and game 2 are on the ACCN+, so you’ll need the ESPN app or a browser to watch them. The actual ACCN opted to go with the Scott Spinelli cherry popper/Notre Dame bloodbath instead.

BC up 5-2 in the 8th going for the series win: https://www.espn.com/watch/player/_/id/ ... 70bb888ea8

doesn't look like fans are allowed (but they will be in 2 weeks at the acc basketball tourney because #science) so the hater of sports on tobacco road avoidance of bc athletics goes continues

BC takes game 3 and the series. Nice way to open conference play against a ranked team.

I go to most of the home games since BC joined the ACC. Gambino has an excellent job at finding and developing talent. I’m hoping with the new facilities he will be able to reload versus rebuilding. This is a peak season with three juniors in the top 50. The key has been the pitching of Emmett Sheehan and Steigler (transfer from Yale) along with Pelio. Joey Walsh has been very good in relief. With this line-up they have a shot at having a memorable season. Hopefully, they let fans in later this month for the ACC games.

Go Eagles!

They have the preseason pitcher of the year in the ACC and are off to as good of a start as anyone could have hoped for. This has 2007 football written all over it.

Yikes. Eagles crash back down to Earth and lose 16-1. Still a shot to win the series tomorrow.

Sheehan started off well getting the first two outs and thought he had a called 3rd strike to end the inning. He then gave up 3 walks and a grand slam and a couple of base hits and it was 5-0 Auburn. This was Sheehan’s first bad start this year. Hopefully, he bounces back next weekend.

Coaches have a lot of confidence starting the freshman Vetrano, but he has not looked good in any of his starts. They should start Steigler the grad transfer from Yale who has looked very good. Need a strong start tomorrow. It’s early in the season, but a series road win over an SEC team that is projected to make the NCAA’s would be huge.

Go Eagles!

Back-to-back series wins against ranked opponents. This team is legit.

A win like this can carry a team a long way. As the pitching improves this team will be a real threat come May. They have a chance to host a regional if they can stay in the top 16. They won the series with one good start by Pelio. I expect Sheehan to bounce back next weekend and Steigler to become the Sunday starter. His numbers did not look good today, but he had a couple seeing eye singles and an error that produced the bad numbers. Auburn was by far the best lineup the Eagles have faced this year.

Charlie Coon pitched well again today, albeit one inning. He is a freshman from Duxbury. Cameron Leary, another freshman from NY had two hits.

Go Eagles!

While I’m used to BC sports getting little coverage locally, not one article in the Globe, despite the team making it onto SportsCenter. Ridiculous.

I didn't see the SC segment, but I am sure it was the novelty of the rally. It is baseball after all. Not sure how much coverage it would get even if the Globe did care about BC football and hoop.
