The World Series should be AL vs AL. Let the NL teams play in some time of losers bracket for a 3rd place trophy.

Yankees were much, much better than the Phillies, other than that you can suck my Japanese imprisoned balls. The AL teams which spend under 150MM would have lost more than 2 games.

why are your balls imprisoned in japan?

It's 9 outs away from being tied for the decade, and this is your best decade in 80 years.

Uh, 2000 is the 10th year of the 90s. You and 74 have a real problem with that one.

The 1990s was the decade that ran from January 1, 1990, to December 31, 1999, the last decade of the 20th century. A combination of factors including the mass mobilisation of capital markets through neoliberalism, the widespread proliferation of new media such as the Internet, and the dissolution of the Soviet Union led to a realignment and reconsolidation of economic and political power across the world, and within countries. Living standards and democratic governance generally improved in many areas of the world, notably East Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, and South Africa. However new ethnic conflicts emerged in Africa, the Caucusus and the Balkans, and signs of any resolution of tensions in the Middle East remained elusive.

Travis did what he had to do. The cops did what they had to do. When you live a gangsta life, you usually die in a hail of gunfire. At least Travis didn't die like that punk bitch Bryan Pata. No sir, Travis did not get down on his knees and weep like Frank Lopez and futiley begging for his miserable life while some diamond hard muthafucka ventilated his dome with a 9mm like the late and unlamented Mr. Pata. Nope, Travis went down in a blaze of glory, tearing a face off some ho who dared to get up in his grill. See you at the crossroads, Travis. See you at the crossroads.

As for the Red Sox, they are an over-the-hill collection of formerly good players who are way past their prime, coupled with some young players who aren't as good as we might have initially been lead to believe (see Pedroia, Dustin, Lester, Jon, Papelbon, Jonathan and Ellsbury, Jacoby). The fact is, the Sox need to blow up the roster and start over at this point and with the way Henry is hemorraging money in his personal fortune, I doubt the Sox will have the money to lure what little good free agent talent there is out there. If they are smart, they will do what the Yankees did last year and take a year to clear contracts and build up capital for a free agent binge in 2011--assuming the economy comes back enough for Henry to be able to afford to do anything.

I would guess that the Yankees will almost certainly be the destination for Roy Halladay when all is said in done.

That parenthesis is comical. The only position they really need to shore up is LF, maybe 3B (can be done through Adrian Gonzalez), one or two SPs (assuming Beckett, Buck, Lester, and Dice-K are back), and the random middle reliever. I'm very curious as to why you think Lester isn't as good when he was better in pretty much every stat except for a slight dip in ERA, which is not an entirely great stat as is. And I'd love to hear your argument against Ellsbury.

Joe Girardi- manager of the decade. That decade being the 2000s, I think. Maybe it was the late 90s. Or are we starting a new decade now in 2009? So many questions.
