I'm happy for them. I don't understand how the coach convinced anyone to come play ball on a tailgate lot, but I'm happy for them.

I didn't realize this came on the heels of effing up Rolly Clowns. Not sure if the Rolly Clowns are any good this season, but its the first real opponent on the schedule other that the Red Sox

This is a bit OT, but I was just searching for an article that I vaguely remember, in re: to the Paw Sox and a failed bid to build a new stadium in Providence, which was proposed for the river front and turned down because Brown owns the land and wanted to much money for it.

Would BC ever look into a situation with the new stadium where the Red Sox/Paw Sox would be involved ? Either share the cost and reduce the cost of building, or build on their own and lease to the AAA affiliate as an additional source of revenue that runs through the summer. Pawtucket's current stadium is fairly large (10k) and average ~6500 per game (2015) but I wonder if they would ever consider an arrangement (most likely with a smaller stadium) to have their AAA affiliate in Boston with easy access from the city. Would a minor league affiliate work in Boston ?

I think that idea is so crazy it might just work.

My similar crazy idea is to have BC combine with Harvard (or someone) to build an indoor baseball stadium.

BC opens their tournament run against Tulane today at 4 PM EST. Game is on ESPN3 and SEC Network 2, which I didn't even know existed.

Go Eagles!

bc has a starter that's been getting a lot of draft hype, Justin dunn who was moved from the bullpen this year. throws mid 90s & led the acc in era, looks like a mid 1st round pick by those that follow that stuff. apparently he's going tomorrow, I don't pretend to know the logic of when to throw your ace in this tournament.

He's the best pro prospect. Based on the stats, though, it doesn't look like he was their "ace." King and Stevens both got more starts and innings and had relatively low eras as well.

Apparently, they are also getting the kid who started the year batting cleanup back from injury in time for today's game. I'm not going to pretend to know anything about him, but one would assume this works in their favor.

He's dealing right now. Has great command of the slider.

yeah, Dunn is a good draft prospect and really spinning it so far today. The squad has no hitting, but the pitching staff is legit. I would be thrilled to even see them in Supers, let alone Omaha.

Bullpen is meh.. Not the worst, but not as good as the starters. Lot of youth there, but some decent arms nonetheless. The hitting will be the biggest issue for them. They just have no power bats that can knock in runs or consistently get extra base hits. The team should be competitive next year even though King, Dunn, Sciortino, Adams, and Cronin leave. If it's any consolation, there should be more BC interest for the draft this year with Dunn projected for the 1st round and King/Sciortino projected to go in the first few rounds.

First college baseball game I've watched since watching a grainy internet feed of the 25 inning one, which I started watching on a tip from a friend and where I believe I watched about 12 innings before BC got a hit. My takeaway was that we were very SCRAPPY and GAMERY and BUNTY and either Utah had an uncharacteristically bad defensive game or college baseball is played at the relative defensive level of Little League. Also I am surprised there aren't more home runs with the metal bats as every other pop-up seems to go to the warning track. Also enjoyed the crowd shots of about 200 people in a 12000 person stadium....so very, very BC!
