TWB is normally wrong, but not on this one. During the regular season every team has the opportunity to either win the championship or have an impact on who wins. Pretty sure not every team has a representative in Brazil.

I don't have a clue about any of the non-CONCACAF teams, but all the announcers say that Belgium is the most talented team but they are young and stupid and don't play as a team, so they are beatable. The British douche and the coach from Everton both picked the US. The German Matt Damon laughed and took Belgium, and Alexei Lalas picked Belgium because he didn't want to jinx the US. No one understood what the dude from Brazil said.

The US's success in this game is largely based on which Belgium team shows up.

These two played a friendly last year and Belgium absolutely DESTROYED us. To this day, it's the only time in the Klinsmann era that the US was just totally and utterly outclassed. If THAT Belgium team shows up, the US will be in a lot of trouble as they possess some of the best young talent in the world with many of them already at least on the roster of some of the best teams in the best leagues.

Luckily, that Belgium team has yet to show up in this World Cup.

They struggled mightily in one of the weakest groups, needing late goals to avoid draws/losses against all 3 teams in their group (Algeria, South Korea, Russia). In addition, they'll be shorthanded in this game with 3 starters out for various reasons (red cards, injuries, etc).

If that particular Belgium team shows up and the US doesn't play scared like they did against Germany, they probably SHOULD win.
