claver2010 {l Wrote}:twballgame9 {l Wrote}:Trout is clearly the best player in baseball this season. That said, I don't think that is an unjustified argument for considering for MVP, nor do I think "won the triple crown in propelling his team to the playoffs" is unjustified. Frankly, Trout is Ellsbury from last season - he won't win because of a ridiculous season by a guy headed to the playoffs, but he may deserve it.
Trout's season is far superior to Ellsbury's 2011
Not even remotely. Trout had a slightly higher OPS, 10 more steals, and 20 less RBI.
Ellsbury ('11) .321 BA, 119 RS, 46 2B, 5 3B, 32 HR, 105 RBI, 39 SB, .928 OPS and 364 total bases, which is absurd.
Trout ('12) .324 BA, 129 RS, 26 2B, 8 3B, 30 HR, 83 RBI, 49, SB, ,958 OPS and 312 total bases.
Almost identical. Trout also struck out 139 times to Ellsbury's 98.
