Yes. They're undefeated, let us revel in it while we can.

Let's try to get this thread to 18 pages, then.

Teddy, your thoughts on Ramon Ramirez? I know he pitched in Boston

I was shocked he was thrown into the Pagan-Torres deal, he's got a pretty live arm

He's a very good pitcher, I like him. Electric stuff, keeps the ball down.

Wright with an RBI single.

1st & 2nd 0 out, if Beltran was up he'd bunt

The other day, they advertised SF Giants season tickets for me. I think it's probably because of that thread from when Huang went to the gay wedding.

Great job by the bullpen so far. Next comes the moment of truth. It'd be nice if the offense could get an insurance run here.

I'm going to enjoy this while I can.

The bullpen has allowed 1 run in 10 innings of work.
Offensively, they have the third highest OBP in the majors.

:cheer

The bad news is they are in the bottom half of the majors in runs. :?

BREAK UP THE METS

My brother (who doesn't hate me) and I were talking at Citi on Saturday that this team has a chance to be very likeable. Granted, no one is too likeable when they're 20 under in August but the composition of the team is the type of team people gravitate towards.

They do need some more pop but David is scorching the ball, I'll wait till Ike breaks out of his funk and if Bay gives you anything it's absolutely gravy.

Kudos to Sandy for retooling the bullpen but the first big game Francisco blows he's going to explode at the NY media

Agree completely, especially with the being 20 back in August part. And we've seen the Mets field a lineup of unheralded players many times before (Remember those 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon games that followed a Friday night game during the Art Howe era?) But it's different and refreshing when you're starting a bunch of no-names when it's part of the plan instead of doing it out of necessity because all your overpaid washed up stars with attitude problems are injured or won't play an afternoon game after a night game.

It was encouraging that Nieuwenhuis knocked one out last night. If he emerges into a legit power threat and Ike returns to pre-injury form, the lineup will be as good as anyone's in the division (save Philly when they have Utley and Howard).

Does Francisco have a temper? I didn't know that about him.

Agreed, at least there seems like there's a plan, and Minaya's farm system is not as terrible as people originally said.

There still isn't that Buster Posey/Eric Hosmer/stud position player. Hopefully Ike develops into a top 10 1B and Duda has legit 30 homer power, but I don't see someone like that who is close to the majors. The high end assets are more in the arms -which are more valuable but also less predictcable in Harvey/Wheeler/Familia/Mejia (even more developed Niese).

I like this 2nd WC, it not only makes sense but gives more teams hope.

As for Francisco, it was 8 years ago but he threw a chair into the stands: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1881073 and maybe it's the looks but he reminds me of Armando.

Remember when we were 4-0? Those were the days. FYI the minaya players that we have starting all are mediocre at best. Every baseball team has 6 or 7 borderline players they could promote. :ace

Not defending Minaya here, but beyond Bay, Dickey and Pelfrey, I don't agree. Most of the dead weight has been cut loose.

Santana may not be a Cy Young candidate anymore, but he's better than mediocre. I think the jury's still out on Niese and Gee. Maybe Parnell's had enough time for us to know what he is, but he's practically making the minimum. You could do worse.

Offensively, it's still too early to tell for Thole, Davis, Tejada and Duda. Wright and Murphy are better than mediocre. Everyone else I haven't mentioned was post-Minaya.

So looks like David is going on the DL, not a shock

But the problem I have is why don't they call up prospect Zach Lutz who is hitting well at AAA opposed to shifting Murphy around to 3rd. Let him get settled at 2nd.

I'd love to see them complete the sweep today. Philly is injury plagued, but might as well kick 'em while they're down. Thing is, Philly owns Pelfrey...

I love that Mets gear is on the google ads.

Sucks that they lost the series to Braves (or are an out away from doing such), after taking the 1st and having your top 2 pitchers on the mound is tough.

Wright is on fire and Ike is breaking out of his slump
