So the Yankees are bumping the Mets off the FAN. This sucks because I can get FAN on my old timey AM radio at home. I expect the Mets will go to an FM signal, which will never reach me in MA.

And it will suck even more if the new station replaces Howie Rose.

I can't believe it's the end of "Let's go mets! F A N"

Agreed it sucks I have the MLB at bat thing so I can watch or listen to whoever I want but I assume they'll move back to ESPN. To quote Imus, "You have to park next to the transmitter to hear the station". At least they moved to FM but that signal can barely hit Fairfield on the drive back to Boston.

Sterling and Waldman on WFAN? Good Lord.

Jon Sterling could be the single worst announcer in history. Guy is an absolute assclown. Do Yankee fans actually like the schtick of he and Michael Kay? It's like listening to a couple of 6 year olds call a game. The difference between Kay and Sterling is that Kay knows he is being an assclown, while Sterling thinks he is some hall of fame announcer.

In my experience, they do.

Sox fans are pretty spoiled with Orsillo (and before that, McDonough), but I still don't understand how anyone would listen to Sterling and Kay and have their ears bleed.

Eh my experience is the opposite, they know they both suck but they're used to them (I guess how I feel about Shea Stadium)

At least Kay calls the game in front of him, unlike Sterling who I think makes the game up as he goes along. Kay is insufferable though. Not to get all :ugeek: but I remember about a month ago I was watching the Yankees game on YES and Kay was saying 'to me the most important statistic for a pitcher is wins, there's something to be said for going out and winning the game'. I wanted to :gun

That's how I meant it. Sterling is corny and the fans know it, but they are uncomfortable with the idea of making a change.

Yeah and McCann might hit 80 HRs with that swing in that little league right field. Call it the "Granderson Effect"

You can get seats in the outfield for this weekend's series against the Braves for $3.50.

The Mets are saying it is a promotion in honor of Shea Stadium's 50th anniversary, but I think they are full of shit. This is a sad state of affairs.

Of course, the offer is only available online or by phone, so you are still subject to fees:
2 tix = $7
Fees on 2 tix = $10

the need to start using some of the young arms. enough of them wasting bullets in vegas.

think montero will be starting instead of mejia in the subway series which should be interesting.

Was at the game last night. Having Mejia pitch pretty much saved the Mets. Had only been to the "new" Yankee Stadium for the Rangers-Islanders game and was impressed with the amount of Mets fans. The Yankees also blatantly ripped off the Mets gimmick of Professor Reyes teaching Spanish from back in the day. :ace

For the record, the Yankees are a bad baseball team being held together by a first year pitcher. It's time to blow that thing up and start over.
