I bet they don't score more than 15 this week

Not that he deserves kudos at all as minor deals such as the one made this weekend, as that should've and could've happened a month / 6 weeks ago but simply not giving these ABs to Campbell, Mayberry, etc is such a huge upgrade.

If the Mets miss the playoffs you can look to the 148 ABs they gave Campbell (.176/.303/.277) & the 119 they gave Mayberry (.164/.227/.318). For reference, both of them have a lower BA than DeGrom, Thor, Matz (granted 6 ABs) & Niese with Harvey better than Mayberry.

while i think the lolmets shit is usually overdone and not funny yesterday was disgusting.

you're getting shellacked, the kid clearly thinks he's getting traded get him out of the game it's not hard. terry acted like a complete dope in the postgame presser as well, put in tejada

now for gomez, wondering if the mets are trying to get them to lower their price as they seem intent on trading him or if there really is something wrong with the hip (granted i wouldn't trust the mets docs to diagnose a bloody nose

Most infuriating franchise in baseball acquires most infuriating player in baseball.

He's fun to watch.

wake up on 9/1 and the team is 6.5 up, what a world

baseball prospectus has them at a 94% chance of winning the division, wonder what it was back in 2007?

Met's pitching is too good to lose that division. Lineup is god awful, however, even with the hacking Cuban. Good enough pitching to make a playoff run if the right guys get hot, Giants style.

EDIT - Mets' starting pitching and closer are too good to lose the division. The rest of the pen is terrible. As long as they don't face a work the count team, that won't matter.

Bump.

I am full of anxiety. Likely will need to drink myself into a semi-stupor to handle this game. Hopeful that the Mets will rough up* Kershaw a bit.

Same here. I'd be less anxious if they were playing any other team but this one. '88 scarred me.

confidence level heading into tomorrow night?

was in the building last night, place was electric.

not to get all :ugeek: but the dodgers defensive positioning has been excellent, multiple hits taken away last night (flores by turner, granderson drills one right into the shift leading off, etc.).

had some confidence after the 1st, granderson drilled a ball for a lineout, wright worked a walk, murphy got a good hold of one to center. thought the combo of seeing kershaw again, him on 3 days rest, etc they'd be able to do a little damage. shows what i know, 2 hits over the next 5 innings

i get terry using familia as he's the only reliable regular reliever (must be interesting for dodgers hitters to go from 97-100 of degrom, noah, Harvey, matz to 89ish of tolo) but using him up 13-7 in the 9th, then again last night, i hope he's fresh for 6 outs tomorrow.

as i said to start the division series, there is zero reason for niese to be on the roster. does anyone have any confidence he'll get a big out? put EY on there, at least he has 1 skill that no one else on the team has.

I'm worried sick.

Both teams are striking out at an alarming clip this series. Their fate lies on the bats of the power hitters. Duda hasn't done shit at the plate. Hopefully, tomorrow night is the night. Duda slugged .486 this year, time to get it going.

If Kershaw comes on in relief, it will be a career defining moment for him. Must-see TV.

I like Niese more than most, but you can't throw him in a series deciding game after the year he had.
