Cause it's filling up my twitter feed I guess BC baseball started today.

They're up on #17 UVA 5-3 in the 8th.

Not bad

Not that I follow it beyond twitter & what the idiots post on TOS but isn't this supposed to be a down year?

I have a hard time getting psyched up for baseball beyond following the Mets until NHL (and NBA) playoffs are over anyways

Starting pitching staff is young, but it's not really a down year, because we've been down for the last couple. I have hope that the bullpen and offense will be improved.

As for calling "idiots" those who post about baseball on BC Banter, that doesn't seem fair. They're the only ones who seem to care about the program.

It must be tough for them, not having their new field.

A win over UVA in anything warms my heart. Hats off to the team.

Two more big wins yesterday over Coastal Carolina and JMU. BC starting the season 3-0 with 2 wins over ranked opponents.

BC makes in appearance in the ESPN Power Rankings:

http://espn.go.com/college-sports/story ... eball-poll

However, BC didn't crack any of the national polls (justifiably, I believe, because baseball is such a long season, it's hard to tell much from one weekend).

After the solid start, BC ripped off ten losses in a row. They got off the shnide yesterday against Bryant, and they are currently up on Ga Tech 5-3 today in the fifth inning.

Does that make UConn worse than 3-18 Harvard too, OJ?

So anyone more informed want to tell me what happened?

They're terrible, dropped 10 of last 12 (and it's not even their worst 12 game streak)

Not that I'm shocked, we play on a fucking tailgate lot

This is not news, but, the Brighton neighbors suck the big one.

It really sucks BC can't slowly poison them using the toxic runoff from the new field. Maybe they'll get that from the new football turf.

They don't get much practice time because Gene won't let them on the field more than two hours before home games.

BC took the first two games against Wake Forest this weekend. Yesterday's game had an attendance of 2300--I'd guess that about 80% of those had red cups. If BC wins today, they could find themselves tied for eighth in the conference...which is huge, because only the top eight make the tournament. BC now leads 7-3 in the fifth inning.

Think about it, this weekend was usually when we had the Spring Game. Imagine the attendance...

BC claims Saturday was the highest attendance in program history.

Another lost season.

I haven't seen a BC baseball game in a couple of years but since we've moved to the ACC:

2006: No Tournament
2007: No Tournament
2008: No Tournament
2009: #8 Seed, Finished pool play 2-1 but lost head-to-head tiebreaker with Florida State
2010: #8 Seed, Finished pool play 1-2
2011: No Tournament
2012: No Tournament

It's not that I blame the players, it's tough to recruit ACC athletes when you play on a tailgate lot. If the stadium isn't going to happen, is it crazy to Cross the program?

No, it's not crazy. Alternatively, we could be proactive and Cross the football program, convert Alumni into a baseball stadium. THey will call it "DeFilippo Park."

Are the moonbats and their blathering about toxic runoff the only thing that keeps this from happening?

Watch Gene proclaim that it couldn't happen because football ticket sales were too low. :dildodog

Followed by allegations that when he got here in 1997, the baseball team played on Cassidy Playground in Cleveland Circle.
