I refuse to make a ROY prediction, because they never come to bear. I will say that Jason Heyward is a rediculous prospect, but he, like Weiters last year, should be in AA.

Hinske just hit a stand up triple but he slid.

The earth moved here in Texas.

Looks like Hinske spent some of those 4 checks on Peach Cobbler and Ice Cream.

A few baseball questions:

Is anyone surprised that Pinella hasn't had more success with the Cubs? As a rule, would you rather have a Pinella/Billy Martin type guy at the helm versus a Torre/Francona introvert?

Whatever happened to the Baltimore Orioles franchise? During most of my formative years they always were competitive and developed some unbelievable talent. Have they been hurt at the gate significantly by the Nationals? I don't think the Senators ever had an impact and they weren't much better.

How do you coherently explain to a foreigner why they make the guy who hits a home run out of the park run around the bases?

Lou is Lou, but he knows baseball as the 90 Reds were something out of no where.

Billy Martin was a baseball genius drunk or sober. I exchanged my Yankee belt insignia with my best pal every time Billy Martin got fired or re-hired.

Sadly he and Mickey were mean drunks.

Casey used to say you have 5 guys or 6 that are not played everyday and 2 or 3 hate you. You have to keep those 2 or 3 away from the ones who are borderline and trade 1 or 2 every year and you have a great chemistry.

Lou had whackjobs Zambrano and Bradley and a whole host of bad trades and free agents. Lous is done and is not coming back or retiring or Florida and is giving his all out efforts to drive these mules and could care less about personalities now.

It ain't gonna work and the cubs have too many holes. You can be an introvert of you have a push button squad and a 10 game lead. The 76-77-78 Yankees were always fighting the Sox and were -14 in July 78, and then Bob Asleep Lemon came on....but that team was healthy then and knew what Amrtin toaught them which was winning baseball.

Strange like Cleveland which proves a new ballpark and winning are a perfect combo, but when you lose like they do...watch out!

How do you coherently explainto a foreigner why they make the guy who hits a home run out of the park run around the bases?

Jimmy Piersall's 100th.

Technically, you do not score a run until you touch home after touching each of the other bases in succession. It is a formality, sure, but the run doesn't count until that occurs. It is the same reason that the guy has to run to first on a walkoff hit.
